a popular Photographer and community activist founded the Flagami Action Committee, in 1998 during the Re-Construction of SW 8 Street to assist merchants during the reconstruction serving as a liaison with Florida Department of  Transportation, the City of Miami, the Merchants, its residents and the media.

Barón was successful in working with these government organizations to assist the merchants.  During these hard times the committee was able to improve the image of SW 8 Street, and the Flagami Area, attract and generate more business to the merchants, preventing loss of revenues and represent them in City and County State meetings where other merchants were not able to attend.

As part of Barón’s community involvement he has created an anti drop out program for the Dade and Broward County schools where he presents Motivational, Inspirational and educational talks and seminars throughout the school year to inspire student to stay in school and show  them different employment opportunities and options.
